My dear friends...I call you friends because I feel anyone who is in search for more of the Beloved Trinity in their life is my friend whether I have ever met you or not. In the Spirit we are one! We are the Body of Christ on this earth!
"Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is "a part of it." 1 Cor. 12:27 NIV.
Today is a big day in my life, this is the launch of my personal blog! Woo Hoo! I have been preparing for this my whole life I guess. I see how the Lord has woven my whole life into a beautiful tapestry that I can hang up and show the world now that I am 63 years old today! I want to stand in front of my tapestry and take you gently through the lessons I've learned, the battles I've fought; some I won, some I lost
I want to introduce you to some of the beautiful threads the Lord wove into my life over the years to teach me, mentor me, to strengthen and guide me.
Most of them are authors, teachers, speakers of great wisdom that address the journeys the Lord has taken them through and now they stand in front of their tapestries and tell the wondrous tale of what our great King has done in their lives and we all sit at their feet in wonder and awe and hopefully learn from them!
My prayer is that the Lord can teach you a tid bit or two from my tapestry that will help you on your journey as well.
I would like to start off with a quote from one of my mentors through the years, John Eldredge. I personally would call him, Sir John Eldredge for he IS a Knight of the Living God that has shown his light brightly over many years. He has fought many a battle, won some and lost some and has obtained great wisdom in the process that he loves to share with the hungry ones that need life and light spoken into them on a regular basis.
In his devotional, Knowing the Heart of God, the August 15th entry, he first highlights a Scripture for us, "It is written in the Prophets, 'They will all be taught by God. Everyone who listens to the Father and learns from Him comes to Me." John 6:45.
"There is wisdom and there is revelation. They go together, hand in hand.
'I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of Wisdom and Revelation so that you may know Him better.' (Ephesians 1:17). From the Spirit come both Wisdom and Revelation. We need them both to walk with God, need them in generous doses. If you're the sort of person who tends to lean toward revelation (just asking God for direct guidance) then you need to balance your approach with wisdom. If you lean toward a wisdom approach to life, you must deliberately and consciously include revelation. Ask God. If you operate for the most part with neither, you are in real trouble."
My heart's desire is that I teach from the Spirit of Wisdom and Revelation my friends. Please pray that I do!
We are all called to be beacons of light shining brightly out into the darkness, to reveal our wondrous, ever so kind, loving, compassionate, overwhelmingly good God to the world about us.
“You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. 16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven." Matthew 5:14-16 ESV
I hope my tapestry, my story, my adventure with God will help you to walk with the Spirit of Wisdom and Revelation so that you can shine brightly with deep love in your heart for all mankind as well.
The book of John is one of my favorite books of the Bible. This is the book I was reading when I felt the presence of the Lord Jesus in my bedroom and I knew He was asking Me to give myself to Him forever because He loved me so very much. I had tried to live life on my own without His deep intimacy and I had failed miserably! I said yes to Him on the spot and was changed instantly! I felt loved for the first time and I knew God was with me! It was really amazing!
